Begg Beats Traffic

The Chet’s Auto Service / Economy Print and Graphics Sportsmen would be next up, running 25-laps. Don Riley would start things off on the pole, but Rookie Vinnie Miller would hold the point next time around. Miller set a torrid pace, but would encounter heavy lapped traffic. This would allow Current Points Leader Chris Begg to close in. With lapped cars stacked up in front of him, Miller would go to the outside, but Begg would dive to the bottom, using his experience to claim the lead. He would hang on out in front to claim another win. Miller was second with Jon Giffel, Billy Hagon and Justin Holloway rounding out the top five. Heat race wins were claimed by Ed Newman Jr., Dennis Roys and Holloway, with Begg setting fast time with a near record 16.990.
