Donnert Doubles Up at Owosso

First up would be the Liskey’s Auto and Truck Service Modifieds preparing to go 30-laps. Reigning Rookie of the Year Damian Lytle would lead the field down to the green flag, but Laci Donnert would get a huge run on the outside to take command of the lead on lap one. Donnert would soon have his hands full, as Gaylord, Michigan driver Jordan Pruitt tried to make the most of his three-plus hour trip, as he reached Donnert’s back bumper. The two drivers would battle all over the high banks of the Owosso Speedway, and then, following a caution, current points leader Nick Clemens would find himself mixed in with that battle as well. The three drivers would race as close as three drivers can get all over the Speedway in a classic display that has become common place for the Liskey’s Auto and Truck Service Modifieds. In the end it would be Laci Donnert claiming the win, and coming within six markers of Clemens points lead. Pruitt would finish second with Clemens, 12-time Champion Bill Luckhurst and Defending Track Champion Rod Laney rounding out the top five. Heat race wins went to Rachel Carpenter and Laci Donnert with Adam Hudson setting quick time with a 16.277.
