Tyler Ends Winless Drought at Owosso

The Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints would be first up on the track for their 30-lap feature event. Saginaw Valley State University student Kyle Flint would lead the field to Tony Postma’s green flag. Flint would charge away from the field in the early running, but a caution just past halfway would put Mike Astrauskas and multi-time Series Champion Bill Tyler right on Flint. On the restart, Tyler would make short work of Astrauskas, before going to work on Flint. The rich experience Tyler had would come in handy, as he worked past Flint on lap 19 to lead the 21 car field. At the line it would be Bill Tyler taking his first win in over seven seasons! Mike Ling, who took the win last week at the Dixie Motor Speedway finished second while sitting in for the injured Chad Blonde. Doug Stepke, Tanner Swanson and Steve Irwin rounded out the top five. Heat race wins would go to Tyler, Ling and 2010 Series Champion Kevin Feeney. Geoff Kaiser set the pace in qualifying with 13.030 around the 3/8s (.375) mile.
