Don Riley Collects Third Feature Win Of 2010; Seventh Overall Between Two Tracks |

 Ovid, Michigan (Saturday, July 17, 2010): The Shiawassee Shores Pro Stocks were up after the Super Late Models as the field was led to the D-L Auto Sales start / finish line to begin their 25-lap Feature by Rookie Duane Call and Veteran Chris Begg and it would be Begg in his 1967 Buick Skylark beating Call to the first corner to grab the early lead as the rest of the pack jockeyed for position behind him.
Eric Olsen, the 2008 Rookie of the Year started third and quickly pulled up next to Begg and the two drivers battled side by side for the first five laps before Olsen took the lead for himself on lap six. While they battled, Don Riley, the Defending Track Champion and Current Points Leader at Owosso’s sister track to the Northeast, Dixie Motor Speedway, had worked his way up to third from his eighth starting position and quickly got by Call.
Olsen tried all he could to fight off the veteran Riley, but on lap 11, Riley drove around to take the lead for himself and he began pulling away from the rest of the field. Riley, who has four Feature Wins to his credit at Dixie, pulled out to nearly a full straightaway lead over the remainder of the field and was seemingly on his way to a Feature Win when the caution flag flew with just two laps to go setting up a green – white – checkered finish.
Owosso’s Defending Track Champion and Current Points Leader, Tony Basalone had grabbed second spot and was hoping for a caution to bring Riley back to him and that’s exactly what he got setting up the final shootout. However, Riley hung tough over those final two laps as he would fight off both Basalone and 205 Track Champion Tom Stone, who came into the night second in the season long points chase.
The Bay City, Michigan driver in his Stevens Cycle Chevrolet would hold off his fellow Defending Champion Basalone and former Track Champion Stone to win his Third Owosso Speedway Feature and Seventh Overall of the 2010 racing season between the two sister tracks.
Basalone held off Stone to finish second while Olsen and Begg rounded out the Top Five. 2006 Track Champion Mark Ragsdale finished sixth with Dennis Roys, Call, Billy Hagon, and Rookie of the Year Points Leader, 15-year-old Travis Skarvi completing the Top 10.
Earlier in the day, Basalone won his first Fast Qualifier award of the season with a 17.441 with Begg and Roys taking Heat Race victories.
